Canon misunderstood the all-in-one concept; this printer sucks at everything.
Faxing: fails most of the time. Prints cryptic error codes. Canon provides NO list of error codes. Thus, why bother printing them?! Useless as a fax. At the office I have a 6x as expensive imageCLASS MF8350CDN and that refuses to fax as well, to the extent that everyone has created a nickname for the "MF" part of "MF8350". Canon fax engineers are the worst.
Scanning: slow as molasses.
Ink: When you turn on the printer to do anything, even to scan a document or send a fax, the printer goes through an ink-jet cleaning process, which we all know is an ink-using process. The manufacturers subsidize these printers because they make their money on the ink. But I hate these programmed ink-wasting processes because they are also TIME wasters!
I have no recommendations. I got this thing for about $10 from Apple after MIR when I bought a Mac. I have wasted hundreds of dollars of my time on it. |
| Problems: Problems faxing, problems scanning. |

This thing goes through some type of cleaning or warm up and will make you wait 3-5 minutes for a single page to print. Black and white!!!!
Crap unit and design, thank fully it was a gift |

| This thing is a piece of shit. Scanning is a pain in the ass. I scanned tons of documents and I hit save and after waiting forever i hit cancel. The crap software program froze up and lost ALL my images! The auto-scan feature is a joke. It cuts off edges of the images. The software is very confusing. I wish I would have bought an MG5220 or kept my old HP. |
| Problems: If you scan ANYTHING that you want to keep, you better save it first cuz this progams wants to delete your scans. |

| I purchased 3 of these worthless printers at christmas and none are operational today all of them have some bogus error code. Why is it necessary to change the print head before I even run out of ink. Worse Christmas gifts ever. I feel so badly for grandma and my aunties... They think I gave them junk. |
| Problems: One won't recognize that paper is in the feeder so it won't copy or print. One gives an error code 5200 and the other says there is an internal fax error restart over and over. I brought them at end of December - stopped working |
